Cape Cod, Boston, Hyannis
October 8 - 14, 2017
Day 1 - We will depart our home town en route to Cape Cod, our first overnight will be in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Upon check-in dinner will be on your own.
Day 2 - After an included continental breakfast, we will depart for our journey to Cape Cod and our stay in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Upon arrival, we will be greeted by our guide and a welcome reception. After freshening up, enjoy an included dinner followed by free time to enjoy your evening.
Day 3 - Following breakfast at the hotel, our guide will meet us for a full day of touring. We will travel historic Route 6A, the Old King's Highway and view the Eastham Windmill, and the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitor's Center. Sand dunes and the ocean surround you as you approach "Lands End"- Provincetown. You are now at the extreme tip of Cape Cod, formerly known as the "Province Lands" this is where the pilgrims landed before deciding to settle across the bay in Plymouth. Take time to enjoy the shops, galleries, and lunch on your own at one of the variety of restaurants. We will board an excursion vessel for an amazing experience of whale watching. We will try to spot Humpback, Minke, and Fin Whales. An onboard naturalist will introduce us to everything we see and will answer our questions. If you so choose to stay on dry land, you will enjoy a Dune Tour and ride through the protected lands of the Cape Cod National Seashore. We end our evening with an included dinner.
Day 4 - After breakfast at the hotel, we will travel to the City of Boston. Your guide will point out sights along the Freedom Trail. Enjoy free time for lunch and shopping at historic Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall. After our day of touring, we will return to the to the hotel for an included evening dinner.
Day 5 - After breakfast, we will depart the hotel and conduct a tour of Hyannis including the John F. Kennedy Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, Hyannisport and view of St. Francis Xavier Church. Next, we will travel to Wareham for a Cranberry Bog Tour by A.D. Makepeace, the world's largest cranberry grower. We will see examples of an existing bog currently in production and the stages of the cranberry growing processes, including the two methods of harvesting and we may see the harvesting.
Day 6 - We will have an included breakfast this morning before we depart from Cape Cod. We will travel to Bushkill, Pennsylvania for an overnight stay at the Bushkill Inn & Conference Center. An evening dinner will be included.
Day 7 - Following our included breakfast at the Inn, we will depart for our travel home.
